Bomb Suppression Blanket
EDI-USA’s bomb suppression blanket is used to suppress and help minimize blasts & fragmentation impacts from dangerous explosive threats, including improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and other bomb threats.
This blanket is designed to resist NIJ level III-A threats, and is also tested to STANAG 2920 fragmentation (MIL STD 662F threats), and will resist up to 70g of TNT. EDI-USA’s bomb blanket is lightweight and portable, and works well to help quell explosions or to help isolate a package in a public area until a bomb squad can arrive.
EDI-USA’s bomb suppression blanket is available with two (2) different internal compositions of tightly compressed ballistic materials for the end user to choose: ballistic aramid or ballistic polyethelene (uni-directional). All bomb blankets include a water-resistant cover (black) and are equipped with four (4) heavy-duty webbing carry straps to be carried and deployed fast & efficiently.
Safety Circle: EDI-USA manufactures our Bomb Blanket to include one (1) deep safety circle (rectangular), which is adjustable by Velcro fastening. It can be easily placed over the suspicious package, and the bomb blanket is placed over the safety ring in order to help suppress the blast. We also manufacture a second model of Bomb Blanket which includes two (2) deep safety circles, which can also be adjusted by Velcro and can be easily placed over the suspicious package.
The blanket has a relief vent hole in the middle of it (13″ in diameter) which is covered by the blanket’s black fabric. The relief vent helps to propel the energy of an explosion upwards through the top of the blanket if an explosion is detonated.
Available in small or large. Please inquire for specific dimensions. Custom size and dimensions, as well as custom colors, are available upon request. Please contact us for any technical questions, or custom quotes for customized dimensions for our Bomb Blankets.

Bomb Disposal (EOD) Suit
For high-risk EOD and bomb operations, law enforcement professionals and EOD / bomb disposal operators can rely on EDI-USA’s Bomb Suit (EOD Suit) to provide a high level of protection during bomb removal operations.
The EDI-USA bomb suit includes a durable ballistic mask, ballistic helmet, ballistic collar (front & back), shoulder protection, body-front smock, body-back smock, enhanced blast plate, arm protection, leg protection (including back of thigh and calf), groin protector and enhanced spine protector.
The helmet is equipped with a “smart battery” power supply system, along with an exhaust system and sound amplifier. It also includes a loud noise protection device to help prevent user hearing loss.
To help prevent user over-heating during long operations in the heat, the bomb suit includes a lightweight skin cooling suit (to wear underneath the suit, shown in photos as the black under-suit) with integrated control system, cooling unit (ice box), and charger, with a connection system for water (H2O) inlet / outlet. Communication hardware is also included with the suit, and is compatible with most standard communication accessories and systems, so that the user can communicate while operating in the suit.
Tested to STANAG 2920 (V50) blast standards ranging from 492 m/s up to 2022m/s (blast plates), this suit will help to reduce operator injury and death for a range of bomb and explosive threats.
Detailed testing data:
Ballistic Mask: 1.1g fragment, tested at 744 m/s (V50).
Ballistic Helmet: 1.1g fragment, tested at 780 m/s (V50).
Ballistic Smock Insert (front): 1.1g fragment, tested at 645 m/s (V50).
Ballistic Smock Insert & Blast Plate (front): 1.1g fragment, tested at 2022 m/s (V50).

De-Mining and Bomb Search Suit
EDI’s De-Mining & Bomb Search Suit is specially designed for de-mining and IED-locating operations. Though offering a lower level of protection than our Bomb Disposal (EOD) Suit, the Bomb Search Suit is much lighter-weight and allows a virtually unrestricted range of motion.
The jacket and trousers are made with four (4) layers of 410g/m2 woven aramid fiber and an additional ten (10) layers of 200g/m2 woven aramid. The helmet is an aramid fiber composite laminate to help prevent harm to the user from projectiles and explosions.
The De-Mining & Bomb Search Suit also has a front pocket for inserting an optional ceramic blast plate for enhanced protection.
An apron-style suit option is also available, as are accessories and partial parts if the end user does not need the full suit.
Hand-Controlled EOD Manipulator
EDI’s EOD manipulator is designed to move and manipulate suspicions packages, bombs, or other potentially threatening explosive devices. It can be used for all manner of dangerous explosives in public security, firefighting, and EOD operations. The EOD manipulator includes an electronically controlled mechanical claw that has a 360º rotation range, 7.8” (20-cm) maximum opening, and can lift objects up to 44 lbs (20 kg) in weight. The battery box acts as a counterweight to the claw end, and the pole is made of high-strength, lightweight carbon fiber to easily adjust & move.
The camera includes an HD lens, 1080P resolution, automatic backlight compensation, and a frame rate of 25–30 fps.
The battery can run for up to 5 hours on a single charge.
Explosive Trace Detector (Handheld)
