EDI-USA at 2026 FDIC Expo in Indianapolis
ExecDefense USA had a strong showing at the FDIC Expo in Indianapolis. Our team of tactical gear and sales experts talked with hundreds of attendees about EDI’s wide and expanding array of firefighter-specific body armor, including our top-of-the-line FIRE ballistic helmets and FIRE ballistic vests, which were popular with expo-goers.
The FDIC expo, hosted by Clarion Events, has been running since 1929— that’s 97 years!

With the rise of violent crime and evolving warfare tactics in recent years, even non-LEO first responders increasingly face ballistic threats, in addition to fire and environmental threats, during prevention, rescue, and fire suppression operations. EDI’s specially designed FIRE ballistic helmets (MICH-style), FIRE vests, and FIRE plate carriers attracted a lot of attention. The FIRE ballistic vest in particular—featuring four gear pouches and two radio straps— are tested to NIJ Level III-A ballistic resistance, protecting the user from .357 SIG and .44 Magnum ammo.

In addition, our newest Rifle Resistant Ballistic Helmet was a top wish-list item for many departments who have been in the line of fire from rifle threats.
Both tactical and ballistic safety are becoming increasingly important for firefighters and other emergency first responders across the US and around the world.
EDI’s booth at FDIC exhibited a wide array of our ballistic helmets, ballistic vests, and plate carriers custom-made and -designed for firefighters and other EFRs operating in atypical situations.
Our team enjoyed meeting and talking with members of the emergency first responder communities at FDIC this April, and we look forward to another year of working together with our men and women in uniform to keep personnel safe and secure as they protect us.
